The head coach of Dynamo Kyiv, Oleksandr Shovkovskyi, commented on the 3-0 victory over Veres in the match of the 5th round of the Ukrainian championship.
- Firstly, I congratulate our fans on the victory. Secondly, we knew that it would be a difficult game, we knew that Veres would play a strong defence and we would have to break it down. They sat completely in their own half of the field. We were looking for chances, but we needed to work with the ball faster, to carry out flank attacks. Unfortunately, we didn't have a first pass, so I made a substitution to use Sirota's strengths. He has this ability - the first pass. We also understood that when we scored, the game would change immediately. In principle, it happened.
- What else does Mykhavko need to play at this level?
- We have confidence in the young players. We support them. Taras will continue to get playing time. But playing at a high level is not easy. All young players have a certain psychological problem: they may not enter the game and then get lost. That is, young players lack stability. But Taras has all the qualities to play at the highest level. We have been working on this and will continue to do so.
- Ponomarenko scored his first goal in the UPL today. Will he compete with Vanat?
- Don't be in a hurry. Let's go, we will move gradually. It's one thing to play at the U-19 level, and quite another to play in the Premier League. He is working, he has certain advantages, but he still needs to become more stable, emotionally confident and psychologically independent of circumstances. He is in our arms, he is a complete unit and we are counting on him. But I ask you, journalists, not to jump to conclusions. Everything should go gradually.
- Why did Kabayev play in the centre from the first minutes and not Shepelev?
- This is my decision, it was dictated by certain circumstances, and I will not comment on it. But in each variant, each person in their place adds something different and changes the tactical pattern and the course of the game.
