Bissouma were brought into the game to try and influence the game. However, the Chelsea defence held firm and in the 67th minute, M. van de Ven received a yellow card for rough play. In the 72nd minute, Chelsea increased their lead with a goal from N. Jackson, giving Tottenham a 2-0 lead.
The visitors continued to fight, making new substitutions: B. Johnson, B. Gil and Emerson Royal came on the pitch in the final minutes of the match. However, Chelsea's confident play proved too difficult for Tottenham and they won a deserved victory. In the final minutes of the match both teams made additional substitutions: M. Mudrick and A. Gilchrist came on for Chelsea, while J. Tauriainen replaced N. Jackson. Tottenham also made one last substitution, releasing G. Lo Celso in place of Emerson Royal. Despite their best efforts, Tottenham failed to break through Chelsea's defence and the match ended 2-0 in favour of the home side. Overall, it was an exciting and competitive match between Chelsea and Tottenham in which Chelsea emerged victorious in front of their passionate fans at Stamford Bridge. The win strengthened Chelsea's position in the Premier League standings, while Tottenham will be looking to bounce back in their next match.
