Ruslan Kostyshyn, the former head coach of Kolos Kovalivka, has told us what he thinks about the outcome of the championship dispute between Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk.
Ruslan Kostyshyn- Who do you think will have more luck in the current championship race?
- I don't know who's going to have better luck. I find it difficult to answer. If we look at the quality of play, Shakhtar are superior to all their rivals.
- Could it happen that the situation regarding the chances of winning the gold medals may change dramatically after the face-to-face duel between Shakhtar and Dynamo in a week and a half?
- For now, everything is in the hands of the Donetsk team. Four points in its favour is already a lot. It would be another matter if before the meeting of both our grandsons there were three. Then the opponents could only count on Shakhtar stumbling. In football, however, different things happen.
It should be borne in mind that Dynamo, as well as Shakhtar, will face difficult matches at the end of the championship. "The Pitmen, for example, will face Dnipro-1 in the penultimate round. And if we assume that three rounds before the end of the 2023/24 season the Dynamo players win the main national derby, then everything may change in psychological terms for both rivals.
