For the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian Football Association is holding the final match of the Ukrainian Cup, in which Vorskla Poltava and Shakhtar Donetsk will meet on 15 May.
Photo: shakhtar.comThe match will be available to watch for every Ukrainian. The Ukrainian Football Association has enlisted the support of Ukraine's largest media holding, Starlight Media, and will broadcast the match together with ICTV2.
"For the first time in two years, the UAF is bringing back the final match of the Ukrainian Cup. This match is dedicated to the Defence Forces as a thank you for protecting our lives. It is thanks to the soldiers that the Ukrainian Cup final is possible. The UAF appreciates the cooperation with Starlight Media, which will allow us to strengthen the coverage of an important event in Ukrainian football and unite all football fans, " commented Andriy Shevchenko, President of the Ukrainian Football Association.
The match was called the Match of Gratitude to the Defence Forces of Ukraine. It is thanks to the defenders of Ukraine who are heroically defending our country that the Ukrainian Cup final with fans at the stadium became possible. All proceeds from ticket sales will be transferred to the needs of the military.
