Today has given the world several famous people who have closely linked their lives with football:
Viktor Kaplun (1958) is a former Soviet defender. Played for Metalist Kharkiv and Dynamo Kyiv. Winner of the European Youth Championship and Junior World Championship. Champion of the USSR in 1980. Played one match each in the USSR Olympic and national teams.
Yuriy Kalitvintsev (1968) is a former Ukrainian footballer who played as a midfielder. He once played for Dynamo Kyiv and Turkish Trabzonspor. He is a four-time champion and two-time winner of the Ukrainian Cup. Until recently he was the head of Polesie. He also worked at the Ukrainian national team, Uzhgorod Zakarpattya, the second team of Dynamo Kyiv and the Ukrainian national youth team (U-19), with which he won the European Championship.
Yossi Benayoun (1980) - former Beitar Jerusalem midfielder. Previously played in English clubs Liverpool, West Ham, Arsenal, CRC and Chelsea, Spanish Rasinga and domestic Maccabi Haifa. As a member of the Israeli national team he played 102 matches and scored 24 goals.
Juan Pablo Sorin (1976) - Argentine footballer who played as a left back. He has now finished his career as a player. Sorin was captain of the Argentina national team at the 2006 World Cup. At one time he played for Juventus Turin, Catalan Barcelona and German Hamburg. In total, he played 76 matches for Argentina, scoring 12 goals.
