The result of yesterday's Ukrainian Cup final match between Poltava's Vorskla and Shakhtar Donetsk (1:2) has changed the representation of Ukrainian clubs in next season's European Cup campaign.
Initially, the winner of the Ukrainian Cup received a ticket to the Europa League, but Shakhtar will play in the Champions League, and therefore, according to the regulations, Ukraine's place in the Europa League next season goes to the third team of the championship of the country, which early became Krivoy Rog Kryvbas.
Yuriy Vernidub's team will start their way in the Europa League next season from the third qualifying round of this tournament.
We shall remind you that Ukraine will delegate five teams to the Eurocups of the season 2024/25. In addition to Shakhtar and Dynamo in the Champions League, as well as the mentioned Kryvbas in the Europa League, the fourth and fifth teams of the Ukrainian championship will get tickets to the Conference League, where they will start their journey from the 2nd qualifying round. Currently, three teams - Dnipro-1, Rukh and Polesie - retain their chances to take these places.
