Brentford midfielder Yegor Yarmolyuk commented on a possible call-up to the Ukrainian national team for Euro 2024.
"I have already had the opportunity to play for the national team. I remember this moment when the war started. Petrakov called me to the expanded list, and I was already told to go to Lviv. But then someone called me back. Someone was sick there, Shakhtar wouldn't let their players go, so I was called back. But I never made it to Lviv.
Was there any disappointment? A little bit, yes. But I'm waiting for my chance. If called up, I will show everything I can. I think if I play at Brentford on a regular basis, I will have some chance in the national team. If there is a place, I will jump in. If not, I'll wait for the next Euro. If there is such an opportunity, I will be very happy. But if not, I won't be disappointed, because I understand that this is life, not everything can be as you want it to be," Yarmolyuk was quoted as saying by the Vzbirna telegram channel, citing Trendets.
