Despite not always being in the starting line-up, Joselu had a great season, scoring eighteen goals in all competitions. Most notably, he scored a double in the Champions League semi-final return leg against Bayern Munich, securing his team's place in the final.
According to Sky Germany, Real Madrid has already activated the option to buy Joselu from Espanyol for a modest €1.5 million. This amount will help Espanyol cope with financial problems that could worsen if the club does not return to La Liga.
