"Atalanta have agreed to extend their cooperation with head coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
According to journalist Nicolo Scira, Gasperini will sign a new contract with the "goddess" until 2026 with an option to extend for another season. Under the new agreement, the 66-year-old will be paid 5 million euros a year.
It is noted that Gasperini received three significant offers (from Napoli and two unnamed foreign clubs), but he rejected them and decided to stay in Bergamo.
On Wednesday, 22 May, Atalanta won a European trophy for the first time in its history. In the Europa League final, they beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-0, breaking the Germans' record-breaking unbeaten run.
