Ukrainian forward Roman Yaremchuk of Belgian side Brugge is one step away from a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor.
Initially, the club from Trabzon tried to get on a full-time basis Nigerian forward Paul Onuacha from English Southampton, who spent the season on loan at Trabzonspor. But the transfer could not be finalised - the €15m Southampton asked for the player was unaffordable for the Turks.
Yaremchuk in this situation was an alternative option for Trabzonspor, and as soon as negotiations on Onuach finished without results, the Turkish club immediately switched to the implementation of the transfer of the Ukrainian striker.
According to Sporx, Trabzonspor held intensive negotiations with Yaremchuk for several weeks and eventually managed to agree all the terms of a personal contract with him. After that, according to the source, Trabzonspor representative Ahmet Bulut travelled to Belgium, where he is currently negotiating with Brugge on Yaremchuk's transfer. The Turkish club intends to formalise such a transfer by the end of this week.
Last season Yaremchuk spent on loan at Spanish Valencia (29 games, 4 goals).
