The Ukrainian national team continues to prepare for Euro 2024. As a reminder, the national team arrived in Warsaw on Tuesday. Yesterday, the Blue and Yellows had an eventful day.
In the first half, we had a tactics session with an analysis of a friendly match against Germany, and immediately afterwards we met with experts from the UEFA CPR Goal program who teach players how to provide emergency assistance on the football field.
The fact is that footballers are the first to be near their colleagues who, for example, fainted or suffered a heart attack on the field. Therefore, this program was organized in order to at least avoid harm, and at best provide extremely important assistance in the first minutes of life. Thus, today the team learned how to find out if a person is breathing, how to lay his or her head down, and how to perform artificial respiration. The players worked in groups, and everyone could try out what movements they should perform by practicing on special mannequins. The guys approached this matter very responsibly, without losing their sense of humor.
The actual training session took place in the evening - on the field of the stadium of the Polish First League club Polonia (Warsaw). By the way, this arena is known to most players, as the national team trained here during one of the fall training camps in 2022.
Having started the training with a run and warm-up, the guys traditionally worked in 4 by 2 squares, after which they were divided into two groups. While one group performed stretching and core exercises, the other worked on passing with tactical tasks. Accordingly, the groups then switched places.
In the final part of the training, the national teams were divided into three groups: one played tennisball, while the other two worked on standards.
Today the Ukrainian national team will hold an official training session before the friendly match with Poland at the National Stadium. At 17:30, head coach Serhiy Rebrov and team captain Andriy Yarmolenko will meet with the media in the arena's conference room, where the training session will begin at 18:00, the first 15 minutes of which will be open to the media.
