Ukraine's national team captain Andriy Yarmolenko and head coach Serhiy Rebrov took part in a press conference on the eve of a friendly match with Poland.
Andriy Yarmolenko- The national teams of Ukraine and Poland met at Euro 2016. What has changed since then?
- The Polish national team is always a good team, with many great players who play in the strongest European championships. As for our national team, a lot has changed. I think we now have the strongest team ever, because many young players have moved to the top championships.
-What will be your mission at the European Championship ?
- The whole world will be paying attention to this tournament. For us, this is an opportunity to remind the world that children, women, and soldiers are killed in our country every day. This is also an incentive for us. The European Championship is very important for both players and Ukrainians. We will try to show our best.
-How do you assess the result of the friendly with Germany?
- We can perceive the match with Germany positively because we played away against a serious opponent. I think the 0-0 result is positive.
- DoesOleksandr Usyk's recent victory give you any motivation?
- I congratulate him, for us he is the best, the champion. All the guys in the national team were worried about him. As for our motivation, there is no such question when you put on the national team shirt. Each of us has friends and family at war. When you go to the national team, these people ask for one thing: that you win and give a little positive emotion to all the people in the country. So there should be no problems with motivation.
