Poland head coach Michal Probej shared his expectations from the friendly match against Ukraine.
"I have never faced a situation when we have not yet started the match and many players are already hated and criticized. I would like to ask for support. We qualified for Euro 2024 after a tough fight with Wales in the qualification playoffs. Nobody gave us a ticket to the European Championship for nothing, the players had to work hard for it. Let's support this team and players in the most difficult moment. Before the match no one won, and many people have already attributed to us that we lost.
We want to win the match with Ukraine. We know that it is not an easy opponent. Of course, we will have difficulties during the game, but I think we can overcome them all.
Ukraine does not interest us in this match. We look only at ourselves, we want to constantly strive to improve our style of play. Similarly, I am not interested in the Netherlands, with whom we have a starting match at Euro 2024, but for a different reason - it is still a distant prospect. Right now I am focused on the friendlies against Ukraine and Turkey," Probej said at the pre-match press conference.
