Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has commented on the decision of England head coach Gareth Southgate not to select him for the 2024 European Championships.
"I am devastated that I was not selected for the England squad for the Euros this summer. Despite my best efforts, I was unable to overcome my calf muscle injury. Perhaps I tried too hard to do so. I am just completely devastated.
It is the highest honor for me to represent England. It means everything to me. If I can't contribute to the team as a player, I will support them as a fan - along with the rest of the country. Go and win, guys. I will now return to the Manchester United medical team to prepare for the upcoming season," Harry wrote on his Instagram page.
