After the game with the Poles, former Ukraine midfielder Yevhen Levchenko named the main problem of the Blue and Yellows before Euro 2024.
- The only obvious problem is the depth of the squad. There are not enough players for two full squads. Everything else is top! We have players who can replace competitors in their positions. This primarily concerns the wings. But I understand that there are national teams with enough players for two full squads. 13-15 players of the national team of Ukraine form the backbone of the team and can directly influence the outcome of the game.
We have Taras Stepanenko, who is at the end of his career, but we also have Volodymyr Brazhko, who has progressed recently. Such examples give us hope that this team has enough depth in the squad. As for me, we need to rely more on young people, because they are able to create natural competition for virtually every position, and the team will only benefit from this," Levchenko told LB.UA.
