The media are now actively spreading the news that Zorya striker Eduardo Guerrero may change teams in the summer. Dynamo and Shakhtar are among the contenders.
I don't believe this news is true. It all looks like a banal PR stunt by a Panamanian forward. He is being linked to successful teams to simply inflate the price in front of a real buyer. They say that two of the best teams in Ukraine were bidding for him, so pay the money.
It looks like Zorya has come to terms with the fact that it will not qualify for European competition in the future. This is confirmed by the continued cooperation with the team's head coach Yuriy Koval. He is a person from the club's system and close to the owner. There is no point in keeping expensive players. Therefore, we need to make them more expensive. For an average UPL team, players like Arseniy Batagov or Eduardo Guerrero are not necessary. They won't take the team to the European Cup zone.
For me, the information about the possible inclusion of Dynamo players Volodymyr Shepelev and Oleksandr Andrievsky in the deal confirmed the falsity of the interest in Guerrero. I understand that in the new season these players may not be needed by the Kyiv club. But Dynamo has a completely different level of salaries and, most importantly, stability. "Zorya means completely different money, completely different comfort, life, delays in finances. They cannot provide conditions, comfort, or even prospects. A young player can go there to gain experience, but not a player in his 30s. There are huge doubts that Andrievsky or Shepelev will want to go there. They just don't need it. If they leave Dynamo, it will be for more money or a good option in Europe.
There is no doubt that Guerrero is one of the best forwards in the UPL. But the problem is a little different. Transfermarkt recently updated the transfer values of Dynamo's players. Vladislav Vanat is on the first place, with 10 million euros. To take a valuable legionnaire in his place is somehow not very correct. Vanat can still progress and develop. Vlad is not only a promising forward, but also a club asset that can be sold for a lot of money. It is not quite right to take a legionnaire in his place. Competition and depth of the squad are all very good. But Dynamo also has a very strong striker growing up who has every chance of succeeding and costing a lot of money - Matvey Ponomarenko. He also needs to be developed. At the age of 18-19, you need to play at the level of adult football.
I do not believe that Guerrero can play on the wing. It makes no sense to transfer Vanat there. On the left, there are Vlad Kabaev and Nazar Voloshyn. Let's not forget about Guerrero's character. He is very difficult. The strength of Dynamo is in the team, the team spirit. There are almost no legionnaires in the team. There are leaders, all of whom are friendly with each other. It is a bit risky to hire a wayward foreigner. It is not a fact that he will be manageable. At Zorya, Eduardo has complete freedom. At Dynamo, this cannot be the case. Tactics, rough work, substitutions, the bench... Guerrero is more for teams where they play only for him. He may not be able to master team football. Otherwise, he would never have come to play in Ukraine.
