Ahead of its opening match at Euro 2024 against Romania, Ukraine's national team held a pre-match training session on Sunday at the Arena Munich stadium, where the game will take place on Monday.
During the first 15 minutes, about 80 media representatives watched the team warm up. The majestic appearance of Bayern Munich's home arena, fully decorated in the colors of Euro 2024, is impressive and involuntarily makes you feel the special status of the final tournament of the continental championship. The host club is reminded of the giant emblem on the seats, which is clearly visible in an empty stadium. Of course, this attribute will disappear on its own in the filled stands tomorrow.
After running and muscle warm-up exercises, physical training coach Vitaliy Kulyba offered the players weight and reaction time exercises. Such tasks always cause a revival in the team, so the guys approached the main part of the training in high spirits.
After holding the ball in the squares, the head coach of the national team of Ukraine moved on to the main task of the official pre-match training - finalizing all the previous work on preparing a tactical model of the game and determining the starting lineup for tomorrow's match. As always, Serhiy Rebrov's decision will be announced 75 minutes before kickoff.
The total group included 25 players. At the same time, Vitaliy Mykolenko trained individually. The defender's recovery workout today included running and ball work: the process of returning the defender to his playing condition is going according to the plan determined by the medical staff.
After an hour-long training session, the Blue and Yellows returned to the hotel. Tomorrow they will start Euro 2024. The atmosphere in the team is working: a long preparatory process is behind them, and the first game of the championship is expected to be played.
