Shakhtar Donetsk assistant head coach Carlo Nicolini shared his thoughts on the immediate future of the Pitmen's midfielder Georgiy Sudakov, as well as the impact on his potential transfer to one of the top championships of the Ukraine national team's disappointing performance at Euro 2024.
"Yes, he didn't distinguish himself in goal [at Euro 2024], but for me he played three important games, and against Romania, in the first match, which we [the Ukraine national team] lost, he was the only one who didn't give up.
In the second match against Slovakia, Sudakov was important for the win, Belgium showed flashes of crystal class because he created two or three top goal opportunities for the strikers. And he himself in the 91st minute could have given a different twist to the European Championship.
We will have to understand what didn't work out, but I think Sudakov can go to England, given that his price is only affordable for Premier League clubs," Nicolini said.
