Slovakia head coach Francesco Calzona summarized the results of his team's performance at Euro 2024, where it stopped at the stage of 1/8 finals of the tournament, losing to England in extra time (1:2).
"I have always said that my team must first of all show good soccer. I've been saying the same thing for these 22 months I've been here. Results are the result of playing well.
I am happy with what we achieved at Euro 2024. We are improving and showing good soccer. At this tournament none of our opponents outplayed us for more than 20-25 minutes.
I want to thank my team, it is at a high level. And all of her players, who were phenomenal. The team knew that they could reach the quarterfinals. At the same time, I saw that in the match against England the guys were proud of what they were doing on the field.
As part of this adventure, everything went right and nothing went wrong. What I am most proud of is that we played actively like never before," Calzona said during his final press conference for Euro 2024.
