Former Chornomorets and Shakhtar player David Hocholava has retired from football. This was announced by the Danish football club Copenhagen.

The Georgian footballer has suffered several injuries over the past year and a half, forcing him to end his career. This is stated in a message on the club's website, according to Tipsbladet.dk.
- "I really tried and spent countless hours working on my comeback, but I have to accept the fact that there is no turning back. It's hard, but I'm clearly aware that my health has to come first. This is a difficult but inevitable decision. I had a great time at Copenhagen. I made lifelong friends, had a great experience on the pitch and established a strong bond with the club, the city and the fans in particular. I will miss it very much, but I will never forget the support that my family and I received here - not least during the most difficult times after the attack on Ukraine, where we felt a lot of love and support. I will always be grateful for that," said 31-year-old Hocholava.
As a reminder, David joined Copenhagen in the summer of 2021 from Shakhtar Donetsk.
