The general director of Rukh Igor Dedyshyn shared his opinion on the possible replacement of Dnipro 1 in the Ukrainian championship in case this club withdraws from the tournament.
"There must always be a principle of justice. The very principle of sport must contain the principle of fairness. I believe that it will be unfair if "Minai" will take advantage of the situation for the third time and stay in the UPL. First of all, in relation to those teams that took 13-14th place and fought in additional matches for the right to stay in the UPL - "Veres" and "Obolon". Why the teams that took the highest place in the championship still played extra matches according to the regulations, and the team that took the lowest place by the decision of the clubs will just stay? It does not matter whether it is "Minai" or "Metalist 1925".
For me it is wrong, unfair, unfair to other clubs. The same "Minai" and "Metalist 1925" finished the championship and sent everyone on vacation, did not spend extra money. And "Obolon", "Veres" and the same "Epicenter" with "Left Bank" left teams, worked, incurred additional costs to go to the match, to organize a home match and so on.
Perhaps, as an option, it would be right for them to play a match between them. Although it is not stipulated by the regulations. The regulations stipulate that clubs must decide who stays, who does not stay.
What are the chances of Rukh to replace Dnipro-1 in the European Cup, if the latter still withdraws? I don't know at all. This is not a question for us. It is a question for UAF and UEFA. If they tell us that there is a decision of UAF and UEFA to play, it will break our plans, but we will be ready to play," Dedyshyn said.
