Netherlands head coach Ronald Koeman commented on the episode with a penalty awarded to his team after watching the video replay by the referee of the match.

"It's not a penalty. The only intention of the player was to block the shot. Then Kane takes the kick and their feet collided. Soccer is being ruined by VAR decisions like this. In England, such a penalty would not have been awarded. What should the defender do? The referee made a lot of stupid decisions, but that's not why we lost," Koeman is quoted by AFC Ajax.
