The game against the Gelsenkirchen club turned out to be much more interesting than the first game of the Bilo-Syni against Paderborn a few days earlier. From the first minutes the teams set a good pace, and the first goal was created by the Germans: Sylla shot from the penalty line into the corner, but Buschan had time to react and parried the opponent's shot, after which the Kyiv defenders knocked the ball away.
It is noteworthy that Dynamo immediately responded with their own moment: Buyalskyi, being in the opponent's penalty area, threw the ball to Yarmolenko, but the midfielder's shot was not strong - the Schalke goalkeeper took the ball.
Both teams continued to exchange dangerous attacks, but it was Shovkovskiy's wards who managed to open the scoring: after a traditional run down the right flank, Tymchik shot towards the eleven-meter mark, where Tsarenko was uncovered. The midfielder shot in touch into the far bottom corner of Heekeren's goal - 1:0. Just a few minutes later Dynamo doubled their lead thanks to an excellent shot by Buyalskiy from the standard, but the referee had earlier recorded a foul in the Schalke penalty area and canceled the goal.
Closer to the end of the first half the footballers of the German club managed to level the score: after a standard shot from the center of Dynamo's penalty area, Karaman won the fight on the second floor and accurately shot with his head - 1:1. That was the end of all interesting events in the first half of the game.
After the break the teams also pleased the spectators with spectacular soccer. In the 57th minute of the game Schalke managed to take the lead: after a long pass from Silla, Nescheret did not intercept, and Dyachuk forward managed to push away from the ball and shot hard into the far corner - 2:1. However, less than ten minutes later, Dynamo equalized: Vanat, having received a pass from Pihalenok on the penalty line, dared to hit a low shot - the ball flew into the goal - 2:2!
In the following minutes both Dynamo and Schalke created several more good chances to get the victory, but in the end the teams parted in peace, which is probably the most fair result of today's confrontation.
