Former Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho, recognizing the natural victory of the Spanish national team at Euro 2024, could not resist attributing part of their success to himself.

Morata made his debut for Real Madrid under Mourinho in December 2010 in a match against Zaragoza. Nacho made his first appearance in adult football in April 2011 in a match against Valencia. But unlike Morata and Nacho, Carvajal found it difficult to find playing practice during Mourinho's tenure and was loaned to Bayer in the Portuguese coach's last season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
