Yesterday, the 1st round matches kicked off the Belgian championship for the 2024/25 season.
In one of these matches, Westerlo hosted Cercle Brugge and won 3:0. Ukrainian midfielder of the home team, Sergey Sydorchuk, spent the entire match on the bench.
In the previous season, the former captain of Kyiv Dynamo played 29 matches for Westerlo, only once not making it to the starting lineup, scored one goal, and provided one assist. Sydorchuk's contract with the Belgian club is valid until the summer of 2026.
