Partizan midfielder Nemanja Trifunovic commented on the victory in the Serbian championship match against Unity (4:0), recalling the crushing defeat from Dynamo Kyiv in the first match of the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League.
"Soya's statistics are not as important as Partizan's victory. It was difficult to recover from a European away match, but we had a common goal. Our work and desire distracted us from the defeat in the European Cup, all our energy was directed to today's game.
We did not want to let our fans down and we are very grateful to them for coming to support us, it means a lot to us," Trifunovic is quoted by the official website of Partizan.
Recall that on Wednesday, July 31, Belgrade will host the return match of the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League between Partizan and Dinamo. The kick-off is at 21:00 Kyiv time.
