Famous coach and now a recognized expert Oleh Fedorchuk commented on UAF's appeal to UEFA regarding the "bracketing" of "Dnipro-1 when calculating Ukraine's points in the coefficient table.
Oleg Fedorchuk- I am sure that UEFA will not agree to divide the points into four instead of five. I think the UAF shouldn't have submitted this request at all," said Oleh Fedorchuk, a well-known Ukrainian coach, "because if UEFA accepts our proposal, it will set a precedent in European football. Other countries will also be able to do this, and it will be chaos.
Besides, Dnipro has already had so many "flights" in front of UEFA that I would not make the European association nervous once again. After all, they pissed off UEFA by changing their name to avoid paying off old debts. In fact, Kolomoisky put the leaders of European football in an awkward position because they were unable to pay off debts to players and clubs. In this regard, UEFA's reputation as a guarantor of fulfillment of all obligations has been shaken. They remember this and will not meet Dnipro-1's demands.
- Ukraine has a historic low in the UEFA coefficient table. What is the reason for such a sad situation?
- First, in my opinion, we are reaping the benefits of oligarchic football. For decades, we had two teams that destroyed all competition in Ukrainian football. And without competition, the championship became weaker, and clubs could not grow. The second reason is the war. Today we are already seeing the emergence of such original teams as Polissia or Rukh, but their progress is being hindered by the war. That is why we have fallen so low in this table. Although we should definitely be higher in terms of the level of football that our clubs show.
