UEFA has appointed referees for the first match of the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League between Dynamo Kyiv and Scottish Rangers, which will be held next Tuesday, August 6, in Lublin, Poland.
All referees represent Lithuania. The referee in the field is Donatas Rumšas. He will be assisted on the lines by Aleksandrs Radius and Dovydas Sužedelis. The fourth referee is Robertas Šmitas. Also the VAR video assisted refereeing system will be used at the match, led by the Pole Bartosz Frankowski.
As for the head referee of the upcoming encounter, 36-year-old Rumšas has been officiating international matches since 2016, and during that time he has worked 72 such matches (total at club and national team level in competitions of all age categories). In the 2024/25 season, the Lithuanian referee has not yet been involved in international matches.
Earlier Rumshas refereed matches involving Dynamo Kyiv, but he is very familiar with Ukrainian soccer both at club level and at the level of national teams of different age categories.
