Chornomorets head coach Oleksandr Babych commented on his team's defeat by Kryvbas in the Ukrainian league's 1st round match.
"Our guys were a little nervous. We realized that we would be playing against a very strong team and that we needed to look for our luck on counterattacks and during set pieces. The score made me feel negative, but the way the guys tried to fulfill our tasks made me feel positive.
It was noticeable that the guys were exhausted, inferior in equipment to the opponent. But there were 2-3 situations when we could have equalized. Kryvbas had more positional attacks, but we set the guys up for that.
We can play better in the transition phase from defense to attack. If we complete the squad, we will show better football, especially in ball control. Today, the young guys were nervous for the first 20-25 minutes.
It is 100% certain that this is not the picture we are striving for. Now our scheme and tactics are determined by the conditions we are in. The players who should join us are those who know how to control the ball and get out of pressure very well. These are players of a slightly different level. But they will also need time to understand what we want from them. Now we have the players we have. I am grateful to them for the game," Babych said.
