Ukrainian specialist Yuriy Gura has been dismissed as head coach of Tiraspol-based Sheriff, the latter's press service reports.
"The head coach of FC Sheriff, Yuriy Gura, has resigned for family reasons. His coaching staff also leaves the team with him. Yuriy Volodymyrovych joined the team in May this year. In four games of the Moldovan Championship (including the first round game against Dacia Buiucani), the team under the leadership of Yurii Gura won three games and lost one, and in the European Cup campaign, one win and three defeats," the statement said.
It should be reminded that Sheriff defeated Azerbaijani Zirya in the first qualifying round of the Europa League (0: 1 and 3: 1), but lost to Swedish Elfsborg in the second round (0: 1 and 0: 2). Now, Gura's successor, who has not yet been named, will have to urgently prepare the team for the matches in the Conference League qualifiers against Polissia's offender, Olympia.
