Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Mykola Shaparenko shared his expectations for the first match against Scottish Rangers in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League to be held tomorrow in Lublin.

Mykola Shaparenko

- We are expecting a very strong game. We have seen video reviews of their matches, and they play a power game, with very fast counterattacks. The coaching staff pointed out to us their interactions, and now everything depends on us, because we have to play on the field.

- What do you know about Rangers? And what is your opinion about the favorite in this match?

- Both England and Scotland are about the same level of football. There is a lot of struggle there, and we need to be ready to fight, not be afraid, and, of course, impose our game, the one we want to see. We don't care how the opponent plays, we should only care about our own game and motivation. We will strive only to win tomorrow's game.

- You played at this stadium during the playoffs for the World Cup, and the result was positive. Do you expect the same result tomorrow? What do you expect from tomorrow's game?

- Yes, I remember that game, we won. In fact, it was a very difficult game, but that's history. There is no point in recalling what happened three or four years ago. We have a match tomorrow, it will be a completely different game. I hope we will show our best and everything will be fine.

I would also like to note that when we played here in the previous stage, against Partizan, we had very good support. The fans inspired us to play even more brightly and openly for them, as they came to support us. We are far from home, but we felt as if we were at our home stadium.

Of course, we want a lot of people to come to tomorrow's match and support us as they did against Partizan. It would give us strength, energy and motivation. How can you play in a stadium with empty stands? After all, we play for the fans and try to give back the energy we receive from them.
