Scottish Rangers striker Cyril Dessers summarized the results of his team's first match against Dynamo Kyiv (1:1) in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League, in which he authored the only goal against the Bilo-Syni.
"Everyone could see that Dynamo is a very good team tactically and technically, so we had to work hard to control all the zones. And in general, we worked very hard for a long time. Perhaps, the results of this work are not immediately visible on the field, but such matches as today can change everything.
I am happy to score a goal at the end of the game and get a good result with the team. I hope that now things will start to go in our favor. I think, everyone saw how dissatisfied Dynamo players left the field. I hope that my late goal will be decisive in this two-match confrontation.
Willingness and ability to fight until the end are really important. We demonstrated this mentality several times last season, when we scored in a number of matches. We never give up, we keep going towards our goal, even if we are playing against a good team. Only with this approach can you be rewarded even in the very last minute of the game," Dessers was quoted as saying by the Rangers official website.
