The Olympics is a good platform for Ukraine to tell the world about itself: who we are, what is happening to us. We have often heard that "sport is out of politics," but not in this case! President Zelensky is very fond of sports. He follows the events at the Olympics. During the Euros, he communicated with the team. He understands the importance of sports in the life of the country.
Developing football during the war is a great challenge for me. We have assembled a team. And now we have started working. My task is to do everything possible so that we don't lose the young talents who have gone around the world. I want them to play for the Ukrainian national team. Inside the country, I am determined to create a strong structure that will develop football," Shevchenko was quoted as saying by the Bombardier telegram channel.
