A day before the UEFA Super Cup match against Real Madrid, Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini announced that Ten Kopmeijers had refused to train or play because he wanted to join Juventus.

"Juventus offered 50 million euros for the Dutch national team player plus 5 million euros in additional bonuses, while the "goddess" is demanding 60 million euros. Bergamo is clearly annoyed with Juve's approach, which agreed on personal terms with Kopmeijers back in March 2024.
