Former Ukraine national team defender Volodymyr Mikitin told what he expects from the first play-off match of the Champions League qualification round between Dynamo Kyiv and Austrian Salzburg, which will take place today in Lublin.
"In my opinion, tomorrow both teams will act cautiously, will look out for each other. And no matter how the score ends in Lublin, still, the fate of the ticket to the main stage of the Champions League will be decided in a week in Austria.
I had the opportunity to watch the TV broadcasts of all matches involving Dynamo in the current season. In my opinion, they are now showing the most meaningful game among Ukrainian clubs. It is important that Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's charges have gained confidence, they try to play from a position of strength in every game. It would be nice if only the realization of scoring chances were put in order.
What can explain the fluctuations in the game of Kyiv team in the last matches? It is not excluded that logistical problems are affecting, because Dynamo players have to spend a lot of time on traveling, which negatively affects the recovery and the quality of the training process.
As for the confrontation in Lublin, I am inclined to believe that Dynamo will win with an advantage of one goal", - said Mikitin.
