Chelsea striker Raheem Sterling may continue his career at Aston Villa, The Guardian reports.
According to a source, Birmingham are currently considering a loan deal for Raheem Sterling. The only barrier to this transfer may be the striker's salary. The 29-year-old currently earns about £1 million a month. "Aston Villa is not ready to pay such money to Raheem Sterling. It is likely that the clubs will be able to reach a compromise on the player's salary.
"Chelsea and Aston Villa have been in contact all summer. The two clubs have completed the transfers of Omari Kellyman and Jan Matsen, as well as negotiated Conor Gallagher and John Duran.
Earlier, Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca made it clear that Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell are not part of his plans.
