Former Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper Denys Boyko recalled his frank conversation with the team's then-coach Mircea Lucescu about the goalkeeping issue.
"I was playing all the time, and then Lucescu came and we talked to him. He said that he was used to having a No. 1 goalkeeper and a person who trains and understands that he is the second choice. But this person who trains must be fully focused and ready to replace the No. 1 in case of emergency. This is very frank and fair for goalkeepers. As a player, you either accept this framework or look for another club if you don't agree with its position," Boyko said on the UPL.TV YouTube channel.
