Former Dynamo Kyiv striker Oleh Salenko has told what he expects from his former team's return match with Salzburg Austria in the Champions League qualifying round playoffs to be held today in Salzburg. It will be recalled that the first meeting of the rivals ended in a 0-2 defeat for Kyiv.

- As for the lineup, it's hard to guess who will play. But, in my opinion, there should be young performers in the "start", and more experienced ones will help when they come on as substitutes in the second half of the match. I repeat, from the first minutes you need maximum speed.
- Did Salzburg manage to surprise you with anything?
- Yes, they did. I saw a lot of young players in this team who are diligent in their tackling, quite impudent, and have an unlimited desire to fight for every square centimeter. Bushchan saved us from even more trouble in Lublin, it could have been worse... Unfortunately, Dynamo never solved the most painful problem of last season - defense.
- That is, with such a composition of Dynamo in the Champions League there is nothing to do?
- We have to get there. But, in my opinion, it's not the best option to leave after the group stage of the Champions League, taking fourth place in the quartet. As a last resort, we will play in the Europa League in the fall. That is, in Austria, we need to play to win, but not to be upset if we have to continue the season in the Europa League, where, I believe, everything will be different for Dynamo, where we can score more tournament points and show ourselves to everyone.
- After the first match against Salzburg, which Dynamo player did you have no complaints about?
- Only to Bushchan. As for the others... As Lobanovskyi said, I have complaints about everyone and everyone individually.
- Why is Vanat not playing very effectively at the start of this season?
- The point is who Dynamo is playing against. In the Ukrainian league, it's easier for Vanat to get space and pass into the free zone. Teammates need to use his trump card - speed. However, in matches against better teams it is more difficult to do so, and even in the Champions League qualifiers Vanat often does not receive the ball when he needs to and does not have the opportunity to accelerate.
- How to start the game in Austria against Salzburg? The negative difference of two goals must be eliminated somehow...
- The first 10-15 minutes of the game will be a battle for control of the ball. And it is important for Dynamo not to lose it. It is also important not to open up too much at the start of the match, however, to persistently look for a hole in the Salzburg defense.
I hope to see Brazhko on the field - healthy, not the one who came out against the Austrians in Lublin... I believe that his long shots will be useful to Dynamo. Brazhko knows how to hit from a distance - one such accurate shot, and everything can change. Of course, I have faith in Dynamo's overall success, because Salzburg is not Barcelona. It's interesting that after the first match, the Austrian team's players are only talking about how weak Dynamo is... It would be nice if they really believe in it and thus relax.
