Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca commented on his decision to replace midfielder Mikhail Mudrik in the English Championship match against Wolverhampton.
"I have spoken to Mudryk several times since the start of the season - five, six times. After the match against Wolverhampton I didn't speak to him. He is very intelligent and can understand the reason why he was replaced. It was just an attempt to make a change. It was nothing more than that. I have been a player for 20 years and when a coach changes a player, most of the time the player knows why he is being changed. It's probably because you're not doing your job well. Mischa is smart and he can't help but realize that," Maresca is quoted by Football.london.
