This weekend there are matches of the 5th round of the Ukrainian championship of the season-2024/25. In one of them on Sunday, September 1, Dynamo Kyiv and Cherkasy LNZ. The match was held in Kyiv at the Dynamo stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskiy.

The match predictably started with Dynamo attacks, which wanted to open the score as soon as possible, remembering how the previous match with LNZ ended in Kyiv. The guests frankly decided to play second number, counting on counterattacks and standard positions.
The first moment at the gates of Cherkasy club occurred already in the 8th minute, when a shot from the right flank in the center of the penalty area was blocked by Rubchinskiy. However, the Bilo-Syni midfielder, who came into the starting lineup, shot from a few meters past the target. The hosts' attacks became more and more with each subsequent minute: Brazhko and Tymchik also shot dangerously from distance. In this situation, LNZ decided to play hard, and sometimes even rudely: in the first half, Carrasco earned two warnings.
And on the 22nd minute of the match Shovkovskiy's team managed to open the scoring! After the defender Salihu fouled Pihalenka in his own penalty area, the referee pointed to the spot. The referee's decision was confirmed by VAR. Yarmolenko confidently realized the spot kick, hitting hard almost into the top right corner of the goal - 1:0.
Just a few minutes later Dynamo doubled their lead: Vanat broke out one-on-one with the LNZ goalkeeper and shot into him, and Yarmolenko was the first on the rebound, sending the ball into the net. However, a little later, having taken a break, the referee canceled this goal, as VAR recorded an offside position for the Bilo-Syni striker.
Before the end of the first half Dynamo had several more good chances to consolidate their lead, but LNZ survived, first of all, thanks to their goalkeeper, who parried the shots of Brazhko and Pihalenok.
After the break, the game pattern remained almost unchanged - Dynamo continued to attack and waste chances, while LNZ played very tough, earning several more yellow cards. Even after a series of substitutions from the Dynamo coaching staff, the realization of dangerous moments did not improve: Voloshin and company could not complete at least one accurate shot of numerous attacks. As a result, the end of the game turned out to be traditionally valedictory, as the guests went forward with great forces, but the Bilo-Syni managed to keep the winning score. 1:0 - a nervous but important victory for Dynamo.
We would like to remind you that Dynamo will play their next match in the Ukrainian championship on September 14, as the period of national team matches starts now. The opponent of Shovkovs'kyi's team will be Zorya in two weeks. The kick-off is at 15:30.
