Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen believes that the Merseysiders are capable of competing for the English championship in the current campaign.
"Liverpool may well challenge Arsenal and Manchester City this season, but we can't get carried away with the results yet. I think the biggest compliment comes when you look at Sir Alex Ferguson finishing his work at Manchester United after all those years, or Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.
Arne Slot has come in and is quietly doing the right things and Liverpool are playing very well. In fact, there are no big changes. None of the leaders have left the team, and there is no one big who has come in. So far, it seems that the transition has gone smoothly. Of course, there will be bigger challenges ahead, but I think the Liverpool fans will be delighted," Owen was quoted as saying by Goal.
