Czech Republic head coach Ivan Hasek said what he thinks about his team's starting matches in the 2024/25 Nations League - against Georgia (September 7, Tbilisi) and Ukraine (September 10, Prague).
"We take the Nations League matches very seriously, there is no time for rehearsals or any rehearsals. We approach this tournament as one of the opportunities to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, which is our goal. So we need to be as focused as possible right away. That's why we want to play in the matches against Georgia and Ukraine.
As for our first opponent, the Georgian national team has achieved great success, you can see that their team led by coach Willi Sanyol is doing a great job. It is clear that if we want to win, we must play attacking soccer. But we also know that Georgia has quality counterattacking players, we know how well this team is organized in defense. I think in this match everything will depend on who will score the first goal. In any case, we will try to be ourselves in this match," said Gaszek at the pre-match press conference.
