Czech Republic head coach Ivan Hasek commented on his team's crushing defeat to Georgia (1:4) in yesterday's match of the 1st round of the 2024/25 Nations League.

Every counterattack of the Georgian national team today turned out to be dangerous. The biggest difference between us and the opposing team was that they played facing the goal, while we played with our backs to the goal. In addition, we often failed to keep up with our opponents, especially in the first fifteen minutes of the second half. The speed of movement of Georgian players in the transition from defense to attack was much faster than ours. And then we completely fell out of the game.
Everyone has the right to criticize us, our game today, I repeat, was terrible. You can't win if you only play the first twenty minutes of the match and its last ten. We lost with a score of 1:4, there is no excuse for that.
Now we should probably give a chance to other players, who, as they say, will grab the opportunity. And we will show a different face. We have to do it in the match with Ukraine. We have only three days before this game, but we need to rehabilitate ourselves for today's failure. We have to have a completely different team on the pitch, we have to show a different face of our game. Also, the players should have a completely different attitude.
We will try to play with Ukraine in a different way, we will play at home, it will be a completely different game. Matches against teams with quick counterattacks, such as Albania or Georgia, are not easy. It's our own fault, we have to get out of it ourselves," said Gasek at the post-match press conference.
