Former Juventus defender and captain Giorgio Chiellini has returned to the Turin club after retiring from professional football just a year ago.
The 40-year-old will now serve as the club's Head of Football. Chiellini will be responsible for relations with other Serie A clubs and across Europe, as well as with various national teams. The club confirmed that he will report directly to CEO Maurizio Scanavino.
"Chiellini never really left the Bianconeri. His heart, soul and values have always been connected to the club, both on and off the field. From September 16, he will take over as Head of Football Institutional Relations," the club said in a statement.
