According to ESPN, the 28-year-old was diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. Although the Citizens have not yet officially confirmed this information, the Spanish midfielder is expected to miss the rest of the season.
This is a painful loss for Manchester City, as Rodri was considered one of the key players in the construction of Josep Guardiola's game. In the previous campaign, the midfielder played 48 matches for Manchester City, scoring nine goals and providing 13 assists.
