This week the matches of the 1st round of the main stage of the Europa League season 2024/25 are taking place. In one of them on Wednesday, September 25, Dynamo Kyiv and Lazio Rome met. The match was nominally a home game for the Ukrainian team, but because of the war it was held in Hamburg at the Volksparkstadion.

The match started extremely badly for Dynamo: already on the 5th minute of the match the Kyivians conceded. In this game episode Lazio successfully played on the rebound not far from the penalty area of the Bilo-Syni, Rodriguez found a corridor for a pass to Dia and the latter sent the ball into the bottom corner of Buschan's goal with a shot from 14 meters - 0:1.
Further on the field there was a relatively equal struggle. Dynamo tried to establish the game in attack, but their actions looked confused and contained a lot of technical faults. But on 28 minutes Lazio created one more goal moment - it was Chauna who struck quite a strong blow from the penalty line, and Buschan not without difficulty repelled the ball.
And in the 34th minute Romans still developed their success: as a result of a dissecting pass through the central zone Dele-Bashiru came to the operational space and hit the target with a shot from the penalty area line - 0:2. Not a minute later, Lazio scored the third goal - it was Dia, who was left without guardianship, hit a header from six meters with no problems and finished a flank pass - 0:3.
"Dynamo responded to all this only with a free kick from Brazhko, after which the ball flew into the "nine" of Lazio's goal, but Provedel saved his team by converting the game to a corner. Yarmolenko's shot from the penalty area, but the Roman goalkeeper coped with it as well. As a result, the first half ended with the score 0:3.
After the break the game did not change much. "Dynamo still acted confused, and Lazio, on the contrary, looked confident and calm. And in the 61st minute of the game the Romans almost brought the score to a smashing one: the counterattack of the Italian team resulted in Rodriguez going one-on-one with Buschan and sending the ball to the bar; then followed a shot on the rebound - and here Tymchik saved the Bilo-Syni by knocking the ball off the goal line.
In addition, in the 72nd minute of the match Dynamo were left with ten men - Bragaru received a red card for playing with the risk of injury. However, ten minutes later, the teams were tied again: Lazio had Noslin sent off. In terms of play, neither team created anything sensible in attack, apart from Andrievski Andrievski's shot, which was dealt with by Provedel. As a result, the match ended with a big 3-0 victory for the Romans.
In the next round of the main stage of the Europa League Dynamo will have an away match with German Hoffenheim. This match will be held on October 3 in Zinsheim.
