Last Wednesday, September 25, in the match of the 1st round of the main stage of the Europa League, Dynamo Kyiv lost to Lazio Rome with a score of 0:3. Here is the post-match press conference of the Ukrainian team's head coach Oleksandr Shovkovsky.
Oleksandr Shovkovskyi- What, in your opinion, decided the outcome of today's match?
- Of course, it's very disappointing to lose matches, especially at the start, and with such a score. But at this level, opponents do not forgive mistakes. We gave our opponent two goals, which were scored through the central zone. We will look at these moments and analyze them, but it is unacceptable to give the opponent such a head start.
- After the first half, the ratio of attacks was 31:10 in favor of Dynamo. At the same time, Lazio converted three of them into goals, while Dynamo had four shots. Why was there a lack of efficiency up front?
- We came to this game and wanted to play football. We could have closed down and waited, but I want to give my players the opportunity to play football, create combinations, and complete them. We had opportunities, but we conceded because of mistakes in the center of defense. And it's hard for me to add anything about it. This probably shows the class of Lazio - when they have such opportunities, they use them.
- Dynamo conceded a quick ball, then Seballos left the field due to injury. How much did all this affect the team's game, the events of the second half for us?
- I can't say that Seballos' injury had any particular impact. But, again, I repeat that we made significant mistakes, and these were mistakes in defense. I won't dwell on individual players, but I think we have no right to allow the opponent to pass through the center of defense so easily and give them the opportunity to score goals.
