Former Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has agreed to sign a contract with Barcelona until the end of the season, journalist Matteo Moretto reports.
According to the source, the Polish goalkeeper has agreed to become Inyaka Peña's understudy this season. In the near future, Barcelona and Szczęsny will officially sign an agreement. Interestingly, the Pole also does not rule out competition for a place in the first team.
Earlier, Barcelona's main goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen was out for the rest of the season due to damage to the cruciate ligaments in his knee. The Blaugrana bosses urgently began searching for a backup for Inyaka Peña. The choice fell on Wojciech Szczęsny, who announced his retirement in the summer.
