Today marks the 48th birthday of Andriy Shevchenko, a prominent Ukrainian footballer, former Dynamo Kyiv and Ukraine national team forward. The press service of the White and Blues congratulated the legendary player on his birthday.
"Andriy Shevchenko, a graduate of Dynamo Kyiv, is rightfully considered the best footballer of the times of independent Ukraine, one of the best footballers of his generation. His sporting successes and achievements have made Ukraine famous all over the world. His first achievements were made while playing for Dynamo Kyiv, where he already gained a name and reputation in world football. Later, Shevchenko became the idol of millions in Italy, and in 2004 he was recognized as the best football player in Europe, for which he received the prestigious Ballon d'Or award.
After completing his brilliant career as a player at his native Dynamo, Shevchenko continued to devote himself to football, proving himself to be a good coach, gaining success at the head of the national team of Ukraine. Nowadays, Andriy Mykolayovych holds the most responsible position in Ukrainian football, heading the Ukrainian Football Association. The number one development vector of the national sport depends on his decisions.
