Former Liverpool and England midfielder Steven Gerrard has been named the best Merseyside player of the 21st century by the Goal football portal.
Stephen GerrardThe 44-year-old Gerrard played for Liverpool from 1998 to 2015. As a member of the Reds, the midfielder won 11 trophies - the Champions League, the UEFA Cup, two UEFA Super Cups, two FA Cups, three League Cups and two FA Super Cups.
Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah took second place in the ranking, and Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez was ranked third. The portal's experts gave the fourth line of the ranking to central defender Virgil van Dijk from the Netherlands. Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker rounded out the top 5 best Liverpool players in the 21st century.
